Migratory Patterns With Jonny Waters, Jesse-James Pickery, Nikita Rewha, Aidan Geraghty, Aroha Novak, Heramaahina Eketone, Moewai Marsh, Isaiah Okeroa, David Garcia, Jon Jeet
Within our lives we all seek to define and redefine our concepts around home and identity. No matter if we move for education or work, we are constantly in a migratory pattern- moving simultaneously closer and further away from what used to define us to what now does. This is undeniably dichotomous, on the one hand you are excited, there is a sense of exploration, of discovery, of something new. And, on the other there is a sense of grief and loss, of places and faces that are familiar.
We leave home not necessarily knowing that home moves on without us, so what do we take with us? What do we keep and what do we put to the side as we recontextualise who we are, where we come from, and what that means for our everyday lives creating new homes, in secondary spaces.

'Ngā toki o Four Square'
A Tribute to a New Zealand Icon In celebration of Four-Square supermarket's centennial anniversary, I embarked on a nationwide journey to create a unique tribute. Visiting all 223 locations, I collected rocks from nearby areas and crafted Toki forms, symbolizing the significance of these community hubs. Through this project, I gained insight into the vital role Four Square plays in rural communities. Beyond mere convenience, these supermarkets serve as lifelines, fostering connection and support. Upon completing "Nga Toki o Four Square," I've had numerous encounters with individuals sharing fond memories of their local Four Square. This project highlights the importance of Kiwiana, such as Cheeky Charlie, in shaping our national identity and sense of community. Artist - Jon Jeet.

'Art NZ Volumes 1-117, 1000 Heads' - Jon Jeet
Artist, Jon Jeet (Masters Degree in painting from Ilam), painstakingly produces grid-like maze artworks on paper, showcasing a curated collection of portraits from various mediums, featuring artists who have been showcased in Art New Zealand publications.
"For several years, I have been captivated by the concept of using predetermined lists to guide my artistic endeavours. These lists, compiled by others, serve as a catalyst for my creative process. My paper works showcase a curated collection of portraits from various mediums, featuring artists who have been showcased in Art New Zealand publications.
This series consists of two components: the art pieces itself, a grid-like maze that utilizes a simplified colour palette inspired by earthy tones and traditional motifs from Tapa and Kowhaiwhai: coupled with handwritten bibliographic notes documenting each portrait in chronological order." - Jon Jeet.
